Meet Our Pediatric Dental Team – Fort Worth, TX

We Make Dentistry Fun

Group of smiling kids laying down with their heads together

Each child who visits our pediatric dental office will be met with warm and friendly faces who are ready to make dental care fun! We know visiting the dentist can be challenging for some children, but the truth is that we go out of our way to make these experiences one-of-a-kind. Whether it is a question your child has or a concern you might express before, during, or after their visit, you can count on us to provide the assistance you both need. We’ll also be happy to familiarize your little one with our Fort Worth pediatric dental office so that they begin to see dentistry as something cool and not something to be scared of.

Laura, Team Lead

Originating from Midland, TX, Laura has been in the dental field for well over a decade and counting. She attended Mountainview College before studying at the Dental Replacements Training Academy. She started out working in the dental lab in 2006 before getting her first pediatric dental office job in 2007. She has primairly worked in the front office since then, and she says that the best part is working with children and seeing their smiles after they get the comfortable dental care they deserve.

At home, Laura is happily married and a mother of two. Other than visiting family and loved ones, she also enjoys being outdoors, listening to music, practicing art, antiquing, thrifting, and gardening. One fun fact about her: she has a bug collection—which is simply a reminder of her adventurous childhood.

Joy, Front Office

For Joy, being able to work with children and alongside her daughter has been a blessing, and she’s always excited to work at the office. She studied at Dallas County Community College and was with Dr. Thorburn during her dental school years and residency. After some time, she decided she would join the field of dentistry, and she’s been loving it ever since.

Joy is incredibly proud of her two children, Meghan and Jonathan, and loves spending time with them as well as her grandsons. She also enjoys sewing and making quilts, and she’s been practicing this for many years now. One interesting fact about her: she worked as a Fire Marshall for the City of Dallas for 25 years!

Macayla, Dental Assistant

Originating from Burleson, Macayla has been treating pearly whites and improving smiles for over 10 years! She attained her certification in dental assisting from Tarrant County College and has experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. The best parts of her job involve helping kids have a positive and comfortable experience that will follow them into adulthood.

Whenever she isn’t at the office, Macayla spends time with her boyfriend and their pet dogs and cats. Other than fostering animals, she also enjoys gardening, going to the lake during summer, and traveling throughout the United States to explore new places. One fun fact about her: she used to play select soccer until she was 20 years old.
